How to be a good Point Englander?

Today we had to write about how we should be a good Point Englander. We had to color-code our writing using the SEE paragraphs. The Statements are blue,Explanations are green and my Examples are pink.

How would you become a good Point Englander? Well to be a good point englander you need to be a role model, pay attention,be careful and be respectful.

Being a good role model would mean to be showing the younger ones on how to do things. How to be a good role model does also mean to help people. For example, someone has fallen down and there crying instead of being rude and leaving them go and help them but also asking them if their ok or what happened.

Paying attention is one of the things we must do to show kindness to whoever is talking. But they’re multiple ways you can do to show how you can listen to people. For example, when you sit with a group on the mat, floor you need to listen to whoever could be talking or if you are doing a test but you don’t know what to do instead of doing nothing and not listening to the teacher but then you ask “what do I do” be more suitable with whoever you’re with.

Being careful is also related to paying attention, role models. But lying is also not good for teachers or anyone (including yourself).Careful means to watch out where your going, how your acting or which path are you choosing to go on.For example, someone was acting naughty, rude to the teachers and they left class what they needed to do was to think about what they just did,how they acted, choosing the wrong path.

Respectful means to be a good leader, who shows people how to do things properly. To show how to be a leader is to demonstrate for little kids like it doesn’t matter if you’re a bit younger than the others or older but you should still be more helpful even if something little happens and people try to get someone more older (preferably a teacher) or if they want they could also try to sort it out by themselves but you should be able to handle fixing things if your a year 7/8.For example,we have athletics day in term 4 sometimes little kids get confused or they don’t know what to do so to be more better seniors you could show the how to do things that’s how to be a respectful leader to others (including siblings, teachers and the other seniors).

How to be a Good Daughter?

Task description- This week we got to reorganise a document. This document was made by a former student last year. While working through this doc me and my partner Kingston did fix some parts but also we got to colour code this as well. Statement=Blue,Explanation=Green,Example=Pink and Connective words=Yellow. Connective words are When,However,If and Because.

How to be a good daughter?
Anyone has the ability to be a good daughter.By showing kindness, listening to your parents, and being helpful you are showing your parents that you love and respect them. What else can you do in your life to be a good daughter?

It is very important to always show kindness towards your parents. Although this can be difficult at times, it is important to show kindness to your parents because it shows that you respect them. For example, when you really want to go somewhere with your friends and your parents tell you that you have to stay home and look after your little siblings, it is important to remember that your parents have your best interests in mind.

Another way to be a good daughter is to talk nicely to your parents. By telling them how much you appreciate them, and answering back in a positive manner you are showing your parents how much they mean to you.  When your parents ask you to do something it is important that you listen and respond in a timely and respectful manner. For example, when mum asks you to put away the laundry, you should immediately respond by saying, “yes mum” as you stand up and put the laundry away without a scowl on your face.

Another way to show that you are a good daughter is by your actions.  By being helpful around the house you are showing your parents that you respect them. For example, when you keep your bed made and your room clean you are showing that you respect your living space. This also comes into play when you complete your chores without being asked. So, when you wake up in the morning or get home from school, immediately vacuum the house, put away the dishes and take out the rubbish.

Supporting your parents will also make you a good daughter. When you be a good daughter they will feel really happy for you and they will thank you for your help. For example, there is a lot of rubbish in your room you could easily take it and put it in the bin instead of making them pick it after you.

Now there are at least 4 reasons on “How to be a good daughter” .Being more encouraging would help as well but are you a “Good Daughter?"

All About Me

Hello everyone,if you did already know me I'm a year 8 student who attends point england. This is my google slides about Who I am and what I like.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi Create Task

Today my group Kina had to read a story about Waitangi and what happened during that time. Then we had to do a create task about it but we could work with someone but I preferred to work alone.

SEE Infographic

Today Room 1 literacy had to write 4 examples about SEE (Statement,Explanation,Example). The paragraphs below are differently coloured since they each stand for the SEE paragraphs (Statement blue,Explanation green and Example pink.) I also got to do all of this with my buddy Deelani who helped as well.

Picking up rubbish: It is important if you see any rubbish on the ground even if it’s not yours.
You should still take responsibility even for the animals like the turtles who can suffocate.
For example, imagine if you saw someone leaving rubbish and they don’t pick it up instead
of leaving it there you should take it although it’s not yours.

Chuck it in the right bin: when people see rubbish they pick it up and put it in the right.People could be leaving their rubbish behind and putting it in the wrong bin.For Example, you see a plastic bottle instead of leaving it outside put it in the blue bin and not the black bin or you could recycle it and use it for other things.

Don’t just do it at school (home street): This means to not only be positive at school you can also be positive at home. The differences about home and school is that if you’re at home you get to stay inside most of the time while at school you’ll be outside more but you should just act more helpful like at school and home other than that be more helpful not just at school or home but in your neighbourhood. For example, someone has bad luck you could go and help them to be more careful.

Teach others (whanau neighbours): Teaching others would mean having a positive attitude towards them and if they need help with anything you can show them how to do it.If they are forgetful you could show them how to do anything they need help with but even if they are rude just show them how they need to behave. For example, they could be watching you do anything and you could behave right in front of them.
