Edvard Munch

Task description -  Edvard Munch is a Norwegian Artist and his best artwork (The Scream), has become one of the most iconic images of art. Sadly, his childhood was ruined by an illness called (TB - Tuberculosis). His mother and sister died from the illness and it spread all around the world. It kept killing people non-stop without any trace of where it first started. It's similar to Covid-19 but this disease got to people by it's saliva and just simple coughing/sneezing.

How to be a good Point Englander?

Today we had to write about how we should be a good Point Englander. We had to color-code our writing using the SEE paragraphs. The Statements are blue,Explanations are green and my Examples are pink.

How would you become a good Point Englander? Well to be a good point englander you need to be a role model, pay attention,be careful and be respectful.

Being a good role model would mean to be showing the younger ones on how to do things. How to be a good role model does also mean to help people. For example, someone has fallen down and there crying instead of being rude and leaving them go and help them but also asking them if their ok or what happened.

Paying attention is one of the things we must do to show kindness to whoever is talking. But they’re multiple ways you can do to show how you can listen to people. For example, when you sit with a group on the mat, floor you need to listen to whoever could be talking or if you are doing a test but you don’t know what to do instead of doing nothing and not listening to the teacher but then you ask “what do I do” be more suitable with whoever you’re with.

Being careful is also related to paying attention, role models. But lying is also not good for teachers or anyone (including yourself).Careful means to watch out where your going, how your acting or which path are you choosing to go on.For example, someone was acting naughty, rude to the teachers and they left class what they needed to do was to think about what they just did,how they acted, choosing the wrong path.

Respectful means to be a good leader, who shows people how to do things properly. To show how to be a leader is to demonstrate for little kids like it doesn’t matter if you’re a bit younger than the others or older but you should still be more helpful even if something little happens and people try to get someone more older (preferably a teacher) or if they want they could also try to sort it out by themselves but you should be able to handle fixing things if your a year 7/8.For example,we have athletics day in term 4 sometimes little kids get confused or they don’t know what to do so to be more better seniors you could show the how to do things that’s how to be a respectful leader to others (including siblings, teachers and the other seniors).

My Genome Sequence Writing

Today Room 1 literacy had started a reading task that everyone had to do but in pairs. So my partner is “Mata”. As a class we all had to watch a video about “My Genome Sequence” which did explain a lot of things that are in our body and why they are important to us.After that we had to read a transcript about what we’d watched as a class but we had to either underline/use highlight to use just for lining/highlighting the important things. After that we had to copy and paste the link to our turn in sheet so Mrs Moala could see what have we done.Next after that happened we had to write paragraphs about what we have watched and what have we done as well. Also the video did say a few things about our genes and DNA. 99% of our code is the same as everyone & the other 1% is at least that you have some differences to the others. There are 4 chemical letters A,G,T, and lastly C also it takes 57 Years for this to happen.DNA Is a bit like a computer code used for the robots. The Doctors can diagnose the cause of you’re condition & they can decide on the best treatment for you.

Year 7 Team Building

Last week on Wednesday most of the year 8's were going to camp with only a few teachers went with them but only 4 people stayed with the year 7's.While they were gone all the year 7's had 3 different rotations to do. But my favorite activity was making truffles with Mrs llaoa. The reason why is because even though it was hard to make it was still a fun thing to do. The next game that was kinda fun was doing a murder mystery with Mrs Moala. The main things to do was talk to ur table,Figure out who is the murderer and we had to use Mrs Moala's clues to help you.The game which was a nice game to do was with Whaea Kelly. Her game was minute to win it you have 6 people in your group and your group gets different things to do. But each person got to be either in groups 1,2 or 3 and I was in group 2 which group name was changed to Crazy Horses while the pt england Og (Group 1) And Little Homies (group 3). At the team buildings we have learnt about stepping up and being leaders to the whole school.
