Power Alternatives (Create task)

Task description - Today for reading we had to read a story (Power Alternatives) which was about different types of energy and why we should save the energy.

Saving Energy

Pink = Example Blue = Statement Green = Green

                                        Title - Saving Energy

                                           Introduction

We should use less Energy,Oil and Gas. We need to use less otherwise in 50-100 years we are losing all of it. If we use less Energy, Oil and Gas we could have it for at least 100-200 years from now. Here are 3 ways to save Energy.

                                             Saving Oil
Oil is precious to us mainly because we mostly use it for cooking at times or other Oil-related things. We should use a bit less Oil because just like I said before we are going to run out of Oil. You can either 1. Not use a lot of Oil. 2. Try to use other things instead of just Oil (Only because we barely will have any oil in 50 or 100 years for everyone.)

                                                  Gas
We need gas as much as Oil for nearly everything. We need it for many things but we should at-least use something else other than Gas because of us nearly losing both Gas and Oil in 50-100 years. We overly use Oil a-bit too much but it’s the same as Gas. You can either 1. Use less Gas and again try to find something else. 2. Trying to find a few different things instead of just Gas.

                                                 Energy
We need to use less energy otherwise we lose it. Everyone around the whole world uses energy for things. We need to use it less otherwise it’s gone in 50-100 years or if we use less we can have more energy for 100-200 years which would be better. For example, if we use way too much Energy,Oil and Gas it’ll be gone within years whereas if use less energy, oil or gas

Conclusion - So there you have it, 3 ways to save/use more renewable's, Oil and Gas. Is there any other way to save Oil and Gas?

Sustainability about Water (Writing)

 Title - Sustainability about Water

Introduction - We need cleaner water for the Marine Animals. We need clean water to save our water life otherwise they will die. People keep polluting our water which hurts our animals. There are 3 reasons to keep our water clean.

1.When you take a shower don’t take a shower that’s between 20 minutes. If you do try to take a shorter shower so you can save more water. When you take a warm shower instead of using all or most of the warm water. Instead, keep a water heater to feel more warmer. Even though this isn’t about water you can just eat meat or have milk and eggs.

2.Water is important, we need water for survival of our animals and people. We have to save our water and not waste it. 700m people don’t have access to water or at least clean water. So we need to save the water (and not waste it) but also the government slightly needs to change their attitude towards this problem.

3.Even though we need water for farming or gardening don’t waste it. People swim in the fresh water but since it’s polluted it becomes unswimmable. Water is slightly hard to get some people live on some places that don’t have enough water. So instead of polluting our water try to find another spot (that means to store it somewhere else where people can’t get hold of it.)

Conclusion - There you have it, the 3 different ways to keep our water clean for everyone. Are there any other ways to save water?

Sustainability: Water

Task description - Today for writing we learn't about the problems of water and that people need to stop wasting it. We had to at least write 3 examples of saving water from 3 different videos.

Since our theme this term is about Art, Team 5 had Art rotations but firstly we had to start from our home class. For Room 5, we learnt about Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol  (born name Andrew Warhola) was a famous artist who was born in 6th August 1928 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)  and sadly died back in 22nd February 1987. Andy's parents were Slovakian immigrants. His father was a construction worker while his mother was an embroiderer. Around the age of 8, Andy contacted Chorea previously known as St. Vitus's Dance. Andy was sick in bed, while his mother (A very skilled artist) so she gave Andy a few lessons.

Drawing soon became Warhol's favourite pastime in his childhood. He was also a fan of Avid of movies. Once he turned 9, his mother brought him a camera so he took photography as well. Andrew attended Holmes Elementary and took free art classes offered from Carnegie Institute (Now known as Carnegie Museum Of Art, Pittsburgh) . Around 1942, at the age of 14, Andy suffered a tragedy when sadly his father passed away from a Jaundiced liver. Andy got really upset to the point where he never attended his fathers funeral but just slowly sobbed underneath his bed for awhile to show how precious his father was towards him.

Warhol's father recognised Andy's artistic skills and he decided that his life savings would go to Andy's education at College. Around that same year, Andy attended Schenly High School then soon he graduated in 1945 (3 years) . He studied pictorial designs in Carnegie Institute Of Technology (Known as Carnegie Mellon University. )
