Understanding Decimals

Task description - Today we had to learn about decimals and we had to try and understand them while watching a video.

Gratitude to Mr & Mrs Burt!

Today it was a normal day.Team 5 decided to send their gratitude to Mr & Mrs Burt.Mr Burt got an award for his education towards primary schools and he received it from the "Queen" herself.Our queen congratulated Mr Burt for his hard work for everyone,Once he got that award team 5 sang 2 songs(Ufiufi lo'a agaga & Ka Waiata) for him.During that time other people thanked Mr & Mrs Burt for this award mainly since they know he does this to everyone mainly since he loves them.Mrs Burt helped Mr Burt in order to win this special award.He has been in Point England School for 30 years which is amazing. Pisirina thanked him for how he is for everyone. Acera did a prayer for him.But I would like to thank him for his hard work for everyone that has been here before.Without Mr & Mrs Burt this wouldn't have happened.

E hia enei? (How many are there?)

Today we had a task to complete which is about "E hia enei?" in English it means  "How many are there?". This task means that how many things are there.Basically we had to be questioned by Whaea Kelly and we had to reply in Maori.Like for example,there were 10 pencils but we couldn't say "there are ten pencils" we had to respond in Maori which is "E tekau nga pene rakau".

Commas

Task description-Today in google meet we had to do another Punctuation Practise but this time it was about Commas.The highlighted parts are where the Commas should be.Commas should be after someone's name,describing a setting & after something happened.

Who is in my bubble & Which places should I go to?

Task description:This week for writing I had to write about who is in my bubble and which places I would like to go to after lockdown finishes.Since we moved into level 3 I realised that a whole bunch of people were walking,talking and there was traffic which means we might move back into level 4 if this keeps happening.Jacinda wants us to be safe even if the number of cases drops she wants the best of us.

What is the date and where are you sheltering in place? Mon/04/20. In my house.

1.What is some recent information that you can share about what is happening with the pandemic? Around 2 million people in different countries caught the virus.In South korea around 91 patients have recovered but they all caught it again.

2.What do you think about how it is being handled locally, nationally or internationally? For locally people break the rules of lockdown and that causes the virus to spread everywhere.Nationally,Everyone has tried to stay calm about this virus..Lastly Internationally,China has closed the Seafood market in Jianghan,Wuhan,Hubei.But they reopened it again.Even the prime ministers have been trying to keep everyone calm about this world pandemic.

Has anyone you know been affected by covid-19? A 55-year old. How so? She visited the market in China and contracted the virus by eating their food which has Dogs,cats,Rabbits,snakes,Bats.Bats naturally have poison in them and snakes eat Bats.

Dear Future Me,I wish that when I get older I try out many different things which I couldn’t do
before.When Covid-19 stops I would still avoid people and I would at least stay a 2-meter
distance from people I’m close to but other than that I would like to go and travel around the
world or even learn the language of the places I would like to go to but right now I’m actually
learning Japanese which would make it more easier for people to understand.The things I
mainly would like to do would to be Writing in any genre,travelling, looking after pets,helping
homeless people  and so much more! I wish I could at least do a few things from my list.

The weird mixed foods we had.

Today my homeroom teacher Mrs Stone decided to get/eat a European food which includes Olive oil,Olive,Fetta Cheese and bread. But each student had to watch a video to know more about Olives. When your growing olives on a tree if it is green then it is starting to get more ripe but if it is a darkish color then its already ripe. but for me the Olives tasted nice,for the cheese it was very weird but the bread was nice. The next one was bread and Chocolate which is famous.And it tastes nice as well.

The Reasons why I wanted to Visit Europe

So this term is about exploring or visiting different continents and learning about them. So Mrs Stone was telling Room 4 homeroom things about Europe including the European Empire in the 14 or 13th century but The European Empire was only around those times then he/she had passed away but before this happened that Empire was brutally hurting/abusing their slaves which are very sad. So after that happened the slaves were only beaten up if they didn’t listen to the Empire. But the real reason why I wanted to explore Europe was because of how the continents were pretty much popular especially Asia but I had just wondered how it would actually looked like. Their animals were kinda different to the ones we have in New Zealand like they have Tigers/Cheeters,Bears,Deer,Monkeys and Foxes which are nice. So the other reasons are that I had wanted to know/visit the most popular places/towns in Europe also know the whole histories behind them.  

Things About Europe

So at class we had to do inquiry which was about longitude and latitiude which are about the directions and which way they are but we learnt about Europe and the countries that are connected to them but Europe has a lot of old and special history behind.

Year 7 Team Building

Last week on Wednesday most of the year 8's were going to camp with only a few teachers went with them but only 4 people stayed with the year 7's.While they were gone all the year 7's had 3 different rotations to do. But my favorite activity was making truffles with Mrs llaoa.The reason why is because even though it was hard to make it was still a fun thing to do. The next game that was kinda fun was doing a murder mystery with Mrs Moala. The main things to do was talk to ur table,Figure out who is the murderer and we had to use Mrs Moala's clues to help you.The game which was a nice game to do was with Whaea Kelly. Her game was minute to win it you have 6 people in your group and your group gets different things to do. But each person got to be either in groups 1,2 or 3 and I was in group 2 which group name was changed to Crazy Horses while the pt england Og (Group 1) And Little Homies (group 3). At the team buildings we have learnt about stepping up and being leaders to the whole school.

The Skeleton Coast

Today at literacy for reading we had to create a task after reading about the skeleton coast also the National park which only lets 800 people a year.

At Tech

Today at cooking our  teacher Mrs Hecka had decided to tell us to bake brownies since every station only had 3 people.Each person had things to do for baking. For an example person number 1 had to get the butter and thice it into little cubes. But the last person has to get their measuring cup and there small bowl to put  2 cups of sugar and flour but the brownies were amazing as  well even though it was a bit too hot.

Once there was a  girl named Destiny she had green eyes,dark brown hair and she was wearing a long blue dress. Her parents had let her go in the backyard to play but Destiny had noticed that there was a forest behind the house. so she had decided to go into the forest by herself without her parents,friends and the others. When Destiny had walked into the forest she was quite nervous,scared at the same time. During when Destiny was walking she heard some growls right behind her. so when she had turned around Destiny had seen a few wolves behind her so she quickly ran away but those wolves were running behind her so she kept running and running until she had lost them. Destiny was relieved so when she had turned around there was a mysterious tree house which looked new but without thinking she had climbed the ladder and walked inside. Some furniture's looked old and others were broken so when Destiny had slowly walked to the balcony she saw some abandoned trees with leaves falling out slowly so she had decided to explore the tree house. Destiny had seen a weird creepy bedroom which was weird and the tree house was mostly like a house instead. The bedroom was with black and red things inside so when she had walked inside the red actually looked like blood instead. It looked Like it had nice and old fashioned stuff from the 1980’s. So behind the door was something that looked like a closet but with red stains like a person was here before. But when Destiny had heard footsteps by the door she quickly walked into the closet and said “Hello...” but no response so the door suddenly opened so she stood there quietly and didn’t talk at all. So she had started to get upset and scared so she had started to cry she had destined to leave now.. When the unknown had left but Destiny wanted to call her parents so she had tried to find something but there was no luck at all so she had looked to see if the unknown man or woman was gone. And she or he was gone  so she slowly walked to the bedroom door unlocked it and still slowly walked again to the balcony. But she was lost because the tree house had multiple rooms so she didn’t know where to go. It was almost night time so Destiny walked into a room which had a door that looked different than the others so she went by the door but little did she know that it was the front door so instead of knocking Destiny had just opened the door. After the door was opened she had walked into a maze with nothing but leaves. So she couldn’t cheat or jump over since the hedges are too big. When Destiny had finally escaped the maze there were still multiple games to do but Destiny wanted to find a way out .The next one was very dangerous because it had Lava and stone placed at random places with space so it was very tricky to do. But Destiny was destined to go through but she had became strong and she had made it.But there was 2 more challenges to complete. Suddenly there was a voice right behind her which sounded like her dad but it was just her imagination.So Destiny had a another task to do but it was the trickiest one to do and it was that she had to swing across the deep shallow water with vines.Destiny had swung across with the vine and nearly fell and she kept getting scared in case she had fell in the shallow water. So destiny had made it to the last part where she had to run away from more wolves so that she can go home.

The Assembly

Today it was the first day back at school from the Holidays for Term 2 so we had an assembly. So for this term each class would learn or do navigation. For Team 1 they would be learning about looking after bees and other animals as well so by saving bees they will make a pathway for the bees with everyone's help. Next Team 2 would use navigation's by looking up,underneath,looking left or right and turning around to find things. For Team 3 they would choose their own adventures by deciding their choices and deciding where to go. For Team 4's one in the video the Team 4 teachers had to find Pt England School by not using their phones or GPS to go to a meeting with Mr Goodwin so they had an map and a compass to navigate their way when Mrs Sio had an Idea where to go she had made everyone go to KFC instead of school. Lastly Team 5 would be using a map and go around the whole world. So for this term the theme is Lattitude. I would wonder for this term what are we doing?
